Christmas Eve

Today is Christmas Eve, which is very weird, I think I have already said that but I just can’t realize it. : ) I should probably explain that Christmas Eve is basically Christmas for us. Because my Mom has Portuguese heritage we open all the presents on Christmas Eve and at Portuguese sausage, when we are at my Grandparents for Christmas we have marinated crab as well, but when we are not there we do not because crab is expensive and we live in the middle of Arizona, so that is kind of impractical. On Christmas morning we open our stockings and eat pork Vinho d’alhos for breakfast. This year we are staying home for Christmas, but the day after Christmas we are going to my Grandparents’ house. My sister is practicing her viola and my brother is on his computer while Mom and Hazel cook I don’t know what my dad is doing but it is nice that they are all home. Tonight we are going caroling with some friends of ours that will be fun. But I don’t know if we are doing it tonight, because a friend of ours is having an open house tonight and I think we are going.

The verse of the day is Isaiah 55:10-11 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
And do not return there without watering the earth
And making it bear and sprout,
And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater;
So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth;
It will not return to Me empty,
Without accomplishing what I desire,
And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.

Speaking of snow it snowed at our house last night but it did not stick, sadly. : (

The random historical fact of the day is: on December 23 1880 Thomas Edison incorporated the Edison Electric Light Company of Europe.

Merry early Christmas,
Gavi
